Norman Finkelstein has devoted 40+ years of his life studying the Israeli Palestinian conflict. He doesn't refer to the conflict as a war, he calls it an extermination. In that, the Israeli government has been systematically exterminating the Palestinian population in Gaza. Finkelstein lists pages of references as support.
When October 7 happened I started studying the conflict. I didn't approach it to confirm what I believed, I wanted to learn the truth. Since then I've read two books: GAZA: An Inquest into Its Martyrdom, by Norman Finkelstein and The Hundred Years' War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi. I've also watched hours of interviews and read pages of information.
I'm convinced that the Israeli government is guilty of ethnic cleansing and now a genocide. I believe they've sabotaged peace agreements to continue their extermination of Palestinians, the Netanyahu government let October 7 happen, and has committed war crimes.
Since October 7 I believe the Israeli government along with Democrats and Republicans are out to weaken free speech. Because since then, any criticism of the Israeli government is viewed as antisemitism - or supporting terrorism. These attacks on our free speech should trouble every American.
Being against genocide and my tax dollars used to murder innocent civilians isn't antisemitism. It's a moral position and my right as an American citizen.
Watch these two videos where Finkelstein and Noam Chomsky discuss antisemitism.
Then take 90 minutes and watch this documentary that covers Finkelstein's life up till 2008.
