I was the one with this sign at Sunday night's Phish show at Dick's:
"Trumpers & The Religious Right Are The American Taliban"

I abhor what's happening to us and I won't apologize. But this is the wrong message. I'm a proud American, an entrepreneur. I don't always get it right. No one does. What I can't do is do nothing. It's not in my DNA.

The right message is what Michael Moore writes in this piece:
https://www.michaelmoore.com/p/bin-laden-won

Say what you want about Michael. History is the gauge. Watch Fahrenheit 9/11. While just about everyone was praising W for invading Iraq on a pretext, Michael was going the other way. He was right, they were wrong.

Michael will be the first to admit he doesn't always get it right. But he's right with this piece.

Bin Laden won, we're at war with ourselves. This won't end well. Until we admit it, no compromise can take place.

I couldn't disagree any more with Trumpers and what's happening with reproductive rights. I believe in freedom from religion, as well as freedom of religion. I think Christian Fundamentalists are a threat.

But I also believe we have to find common ground with those we disagree with. From there it's all about voting - in every neighborhood, town, city, state, and federal election.

They want folks to believe their vote doesn't count. Nothing could be further from the truth. We're a nation of laws, laws are made by law makers, law makers are elected. Your vote matters, every vote matters.

I have disagreements with Obama. But when he said this he nailed it - “People have a tendency to blame politicians when things don't work, but as I always tell people, you get the politicians you deserve,” Obama said, to loud applause. “And if you don't vote and you don't pay attention, you'll get policies that don't reflect your interest.”

I'll have another sign at the next concert I'm at. But my message will be different.
